A design born from a competition

Anıtkabir is the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. It was designed by architects Emin Onat and Orhan Arda.

Completed in 1953

The construction of Anıtkabir was completed in 1953.

The museum within the complex

The Atatürk and the War of Independence Museum, located in the colonnaded gallery beneath the Hall of Honor, reopened after an expansion on 26 August 2002, the 80th anniversary of the Great Offensive.

Anıtkabir is located in Anıttepe, Çankaya district. The museum within the complex can be visited as a natural part of the same trip.
