Located about 20 km from Kızılcahamam, the Abacı Fairy Chimneys are striking examples of “natural art” formed by the erosion of tuffs dating back 11–16 million years (Middle Miocene). It is believed that the current shapes of these formations developed within the last hundred thousand years. After Ürgüp, they are considered among the most remarkable fairy chimney formations in Central Anatolia. A short walk reveals this unexpected geological landscape rising in the middle of the steppe.
