Beypazarı Historic Town Route

5 stops

Route and Why This Order

This route fits Beypazarı's Ottoman-era town fabric into a single walk. It begins at Beypazarı Bazaar; surrounded by historic houses, mosques and shops, this area is placed at the start to convey the day's overall atmosphere from the first minutes. The timber mansion architecture of the Historic Houses of Beypazarı within the bazaar is explored slowly. A walk leads to nearby Sultan Alaaddin Mosque and Rüstem Paşa Bathhouse (today the Turkish Bath Museum); both being short stops, they are planned back to back. The route closes naturally at İnözü Valley just outside town — known for its rock-cut cave openings, the valley is the way to end the day moving from historic fabric into nature.

Duration, Distance and Transport

The total walking distance between the in-town stops is about 1.5 km; with the transfer to İnözü Valley, the total route distance rises to 4 km. The route takes 3-4 hours; a short car transfer may be needed to reach the valley.

When to Go

Walking the bazaar in the morning is the way to catch the shops just opening and the streets at their least crowded.

Local Tip

Small shops selling Beypazarı's local products such as dry beans and tarhana can be found at better prices in the side streets away from the main bazaar avenue.
